Beginning with the release of the SWEET BOY/DECOMPRESSION 7” single in 1992, a sound rooted in the pre-gentrified borough of Brooklyn, the auspicious songwriting partnership between Rod Hohl and Megan Spooner delivered sweet rock and punk-pop. One final incarnation, the band Fellaheen met regularly after hours at Electric Lady Studios in New York City to record a boisterous collection of songs.
As a solo artist, Ms. Spooner continued to make music, releasing the album Calm Down Little Horsey! Vol. One captured in her kitchen, in analog at BC Studios off the Gowanus Canal, and in Andy Salas’ New Mexico home studio. Before slipping off into the Great Smoky Mountains, she recorded an EP re-titled I Kicked the Muse While under the Influence of the 21st Century Blues, produced by Scott Matthews at Tikitown Studios in Sausalito, CA.
A lot of these sound recordings were originally captured on cassette or reel-to-reel with the sentiment of re-arranging and recording more masterpieces pointing forevermore toward the hallowed ground.
