This 38-image series of photographs showcases the carpentry, whitewash, and DIY ethic of the homestead and hermitage where I lived in Walker County, Georgia from the year 2006-to-2014.
I often found visitors at my doorstep initially soliciting their church doctrine, who turned out to be close relatives of family members who had been birthed in this house. These women were welcomed in, sometimes returning a year or so later to repeat this journey home.
Photographs from the collection titled Leaving Plantation Drive are available as large prints in a limited series. Contact tyhrecords@gmail.com for more information, previews and pricing.
